JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must possess the following:

• Knowledge of spinning fibres into yarn, and knitting or weaving yarn into fabrics;
• Knowledge producing non-woven materials;
• Expertise in ensuring quality in areas such as strength, durability, colour fastness and water and chemical resistance, including stability in washing;

Must be able to:

• Assist with technical development of new fiber, fabric, weaving and finishing technologies to develop new or modify existing products;
• Develop technical understanding of fiber, fabric, weaving and finishing technologies and how they interact and relate to the company's process and final fabric properties;
• Research new materials and technologies to define and develop fabrics, products, and processes for existing or new markets;
• Develop and perform quality assessment of fibres;
• Develop or modify new test methods;
• Adjust schedule to perform special projects as assignedJob Requirements:

• B.S. degree in a textile science discipline (textiles, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent) with knowledge of textiles and textile testing procedures.
• Experience developing textile specifications and working with R&D and/or designers in the product development process is preferred.
• Excellent technical expertise, critical decision making and problem solving capabilities.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Individual must be highly motivated with the willingness to learn.
• Must be capable of innovative and creative thinking.
